SOUTH OF FRANCE
Cesseras is a historic small village, in the centre of a wine producing region
Rue Marcel Malfosse, Cesseras, 34210, France
Phone 0033(0)468913831 Contact Château Marcel

Cesseras, in the Languedoc enjoys on average three hundred long, sunny days  per year. Mediterranean beaches. miles of walks, Forests, thermal springs, spas, Grottos, caves, vestiges of the Languedoc's long historyGreek and Roman architecture,  reminders of the  Cathars, the papal Crusade against them and the Papal Inquisition that followed the crusade.

Pleasures for the soul abound every weekend in local villages when concerts are given, (normally entrance free) where you can enjoy live music performance, from ancient folk, classical, jazz or rock traditions. During the medieval period, before the area was annexed by France, the 'Langue d'Oc' was the premier literary language of Europe and gave its name to the area. Its rulers, the Counts of Toulouse, were the most tolerant and enlightened in the Western world, governing a society where women and men had equal status.

Holidays here are about sun, sea, delicious local wine, fun, laughter, inexpensive restaurants, bargain hunting at Vide Greniers - literally emptying the loft - probably car boot sale is the closest translation.

A popular practice at Château Marcel is to pack food and drink, set off for the beaches, naturalist or not as you prefer (only a forty minute drive), spend the day lazing in and out of the Mediterranean. Back at Château Marcel, cool off in our swimming pool over a glass of wine. Perhaps spend the evening enjoying a meal in a nearby restaurant - modest eating is around €18 PP. Choose from the Château Marcel menu for about €12 PP. Perhaps barbeque in our garden, leaving the driver free to enjoy our local wines. I buy locally 5 liters of an excellent wine for €6.00.

If you're feeling adventurous, Spain is only a ninety minute drive away.

You can be assured of our endeavors to make your holiday a success.
